I have given serious thought to getting a dog while I am in graduate school. Obviously, I have to find an apartment first, but assuming otherwise, answer me this: What Dog Should I Get?
Obviously, the english cocker spaniel holds a special place in my heart. But the greyhound has nice qualities, including the loveable coach-potato attitude. Other suggestions I've gotten: boston terrier, italian greyhound, norwich terrier, and (unbelievably) the chihuahua.
The dog should be able to stay alone for long periods of time (probably in an apartment or house without a fenced backyard), require minimal grooming and exercise, and have few health problems. Cuteness a must.
